Time goes by too quickly. I realize this now more than ever, when I am watching Alex grow so fast, reaching new milestones daily. Since he was born, I have been wanting to start a blog to keep friends and family updated on Alex’s progress… and now I figure, better late than never.
In early June, Adam and I started to feed Alex some solids. We started with rice cereal and peas and after getting used to a new way of eating, he seemed to really like them. So far we have tried peas, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, oatmeal cereal, bananas, applesauce and pears. The only negative response came with the squash. Apparently he is just like mommy and daddy in that department!
Alex is growing like a weed. When he was born on January 16, he was 7 lbs, 13 ozs and 19 inches long. At his six-month checkup, Alex was 19 lbs, 9 ozs and 28 inches long. He is a big boy!
Alex is full of smiles, giggles and raspberries. He “talks” all day long, causing strangers in restaurants to comment that he will be speaking early.
This summer we’ve spent a few days at MomMom Kendig’s pool. Alex loves the pool! And he is a natural in it. Just watch this video to see for yourself! (Video is from 7/17/08)
Alex’s most recent development is trying to crawl. He does this really cute move that reminds me of a frog. Instead of using one leg at a time to get some motion, he pushes off with both at the same time. He usually does a nose dive after this, but hey, he’s closer to his destination so it works for him! See? I took this video on Tuesday (8/12/08).
